Baramulla: Police on Monday claimed to have foiled a weapon snatching plan of militants by arresting eight youths in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain said in a statement that credible inputs revealed that a criminal conspirancy had been hatched by some over ground workers (OGWs) of militants to snatch weapons from policemen on duty.
Eight militant accomplices have been picked up by police in Baramulla, Tangmarg and Srinagar areas in this connection.
SSP Baramulla further said in a statement that a case FIR No. 102/2018 U/S 18,38 UA (P) act has been filed in police station Tangmarg and further investigation has been taken up.
SSP said that during the investigation, some recovery of arms and ammunition has been made with the assistance of other security forces including CRPF and Army. (With GNS Inputs)
