
AWANTIPORA — Joint Forces today claimed that it arrested a ‘militant associate’ affiliated with militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad from Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said that Awantipora Police along with soldiers from 55 Rashtriya Rifles and 185 Battalion CRPF arrested a militant associate for providing shelter and logistic support to militants.
Police said that incriminating material and a hand grenade has been recovered from the possession of the arrested militant associate, identified as Umar Farooq Bhat of Renzipora Awantipora.
A formal case (7/22) has been registered against the ‘associate’ at Police Station Awantipora.
