Pulwama youth injured after being shot by Naka party

PULWAMA — A youth was on Saturday injured after Army opened fire upon him during a Naka checking in Bandzoo area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Sources said that a youth identified as Shahid Farooq of Prichoo Pulwama, aged 18 years, was injured after Army opened fire upon him at Bandzoo Pulwama while frisking was intensified on Shopian-Pulwama road.

The injured youth has been admitted to District Hospital Pulwama for specialized treatment.

Army officials, however, said that the youth when asked to stop during checking didn’t stop and tried to fled from the spot following which he was fired upon.
