PULWAMA — On receiving immense complaints from the locals, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer conducted nocturnal raids in the intervening night of September 27 here.

The DC conducted raids in Lassipora, Kakapora, Pampore and Galander to check operations of illegal mining in the district and seized scores of clay-loaded tippers.

During the raids 16 tippers were confiscated, besides impounding and blacklisting 30 Tippers by the ARTO.

The DC directed the ARTO to cancel the RCs, Driving Licenses and Permits of the seized vehicles, besides directing the respective Tehsildars to lodge FIR against the violators.

The DC on the occasion was accompanied by the teams of officers from Geology and Mining Department, Motor Vehicles Department and Revenue officials.
