Pulwama: A militant died on Saturday in the ongoing encounter with the Army and police in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Raqib Bashir, a resident of Zadoora area of the district, said an official.
The gunfight erupted in Gundpora village after militants threw a grenade at the forces to escape from the cordon which had been laid while acting on a tip-off.
