PULWAMA — Government forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation in two hamlets of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district this morning.
The search operation in both the villages was underway till the filing of this report.
Sources said that combined forces including soldiers from 53 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group of local Police and 183 Battalion of paramilitary CRPF cordoned off Murran and Aripal villages of the district after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants.
Aripal is located in Tral while Murran is situated in the heart of Pulwama district. Both these villages have witnessed gunfights in the recent past.
