GANDERBAL — Two shops were gutted in a fire incident on Monday evening here in Kangan area of Ganderbal district. The fire broke out at around 8:00 PM, in which two shops were completely damaged.

According to reliable sources, flames were seen from a matting shop situated near an Army camp, following which Army men rushed to the spot and informed local police and Fire and Emergency Services.

Later, fire tenders from the Fire and Emergency Department were rushed to the spot to control the flames.

A team of J&K Police, headed by SHO Kangan, Mr Farooq Ahmad Shah, was also there, who helped to put out the fire.

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.
