“Saboora was taken to the operation theatre at 2:50 PM for a septoplasty. However, after hours of uncertainty, at 5:50 PM, the doctors informed us that she was experiencing severe palpitations and needed to be shifted to a hospital in Srinagar. By the time we reached, she had already passed away,” she was quoted as having told the news agency KNT.

The brother of the deceased girl, Zaid, also participated in the protest, holding a placard with the photograph of the doctor allegedly responsible for her death. “She was a medical student herself and was undergoing a simple nose surgery. She should not have died. We demand justice from the government,” he said.
