
SRINAGAR — Two soldiers were detained at the Srinagar International Airport on Friday after airport security recovered two live rounds from their baggage.
An official, as per news agency KDC, said that during screening at the drop gate of the Srinagar International Airport, two live rounds of INSAS rifle were recovered from the baggage of Vijay Pal of Assam Rifles (AR) who was proceeding on leave from Srinagar to Delhi.
Pal was immediately detained for questioning and later handed over to police post Humhama, the official said.
He said that further investigation has been launched in this regard.
Another soldier was detained at the airport after airport security recovered a live cartridge from his baggage.
An official said that during screening at the drop gate of the Srinagar International Airport, one live cartridge of 7.62 mm was recovered from the baggage of Babin Kumar of 3 RR who was proceeding on leave from Srinagar to Delhi by GoFirst flight.
Kumar was immediately detained for questioning and later handed over to police post Humhama, the official said. He said that further investigation has been launched in this regard.
