KULGAM — A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu & Kashmir Police has gone missing from Yaripora belt of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Wednesday.
A police officer said that a SPO Zakir Hussain Malik son of Mohammad Skinder Malik, a resident of Hanger village of Yaripora area in Kulgam, has gone missing since Tuesday evening.
He said that Zakir (belt number 967A) has been missing along with an AK-47 rifle from Tuesday (December 22).
He said that he was on duty at Police post Frisal Kulgam from 3 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday where he went missing.
There are apprehensions that he might have joined militant ranks, however, efforts are on to trace him, he said.
