Sopore: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three over ground workers (OGW’s) of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit from Sopore village in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police sources said that a joint Naka was laid by Police component Rafiabad near Chatlora crossing in Rafiabad.

“During checking, one motorcycle having three pillion riders on it, tried to escape from the spot. The Naka party chased and overpowered the trio,” they said.

They added, “During preliminary questioning, they revealed their identity as Akhtar Rasool Lone son of Khaliq Lone, Tariq Ahmed Tantary son of Mohammad Yousuf, Irfan Ahmed Ashraf Dar son of Mohammad Ashraf, all residents of Reban Rafiabad.”

SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal said that the three OGWs of LeT were held by the Naka party.

“A case FIR number 149/2018 under section 7/25, 13 ULA Act was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigations were taken up,” he said.
