Three self-styled leaders arrested for threatening media persons, says J-K Police

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three miscreants for threatening and intimidating media persons, and gave an anti-national byte in a press conference in the summer capital Srinagar.

Srinagar Police in a tweet, according to the news agency KDC, said, “3 miscreants namely Suhail Khan, Nadeem Shafi Rather & Umar Majeed Wani arrested. They were self-styled leaders and had threatened & intimidated media persons, gave anti-national byte yesterday in a press conference. FIR No. 05/2023 in relevant sections registered in Kothibagh PS.”

Suhail Khan, a resident of Kongandara Magam at present Umarabad HMT Srinagar is the president of “Awami Awaz Party’’ and is also running a Global Innovation Consultancy at NB House Maisuma, while Nadeem Shafi, a resident of Maloora Srinagar is said to be the General Secretary and Gazi Umar is said to be State Secretary of the ‘party’.
