SRINAGAR — Two militants of Ansar-ul-Gazwatul Hind (AGuH) were killed in an encounter in Nowgam area of Srinagar district on Wednesday evening, police said.

Kashmir Zone Police, as per the news agency KNO informed that an encounter broke out in Nowgam area on specific information generated by police.

Police said that in the ensuing encounter, two militants belonging to AGuH militant outfit were killed.

Meanwhile, quoting Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, police said that the duo was involved in an attack on a non-local labourer in Pulwama on September 2.

The slain militants have been identified as Aijaz Rasool Najar of Pulwama and Shahid Ahmad alias Abu Hamza.

“Killed terrorists were affiliated with terror outfit AGuH & identified as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama & Shahid Ahmad @ Abu Hamza. They were involved in recent terror attack on an outside labourer namely Muneer ul Islam from West Bengal on 2/9/22 in Pulwama,” police tweeted.
