
PULWAMA — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two Jaish-e-Mohammad militant associates in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In a handout to the news agency GNS, police said that a team of Pulwama Police along with Army (55RR) and CRPF (182Bn) arrested two militant associates of militant outfit JeM.
The arrested duo has been identified as Adnan Shafi Bhat son of Mohd Shafi Bhat, resident of Ashmander and Yawar Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, resident of Karimabad.
According to the police spokesman, incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one pistol along with one magazine and 12 rounds were recovered from their possession. “During the investigation, two grenades were also recovered upon their disclosure,” he added.
The arrested duo was working as associates of militant outfit JeM and was tasked to carry out attacks on non-local labourers in the area, police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 312/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been initiated, reads the statement.
