SRINAGAR — Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two militant associates of Jaish-i-Muhammad outfit in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In a statement, the police said that on specific information about the movement of anti-national elements, Pulwama Police with assistance of 44 RR and 182 Battalion CRPF arrested two militant associates of outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants as well as in transporting of arms/ammunition and explosive material for the terrorists in the jurisdiction of Pulwama.
According to police spokesman, the arrested associates were in touch with JeM commanders and were involved in transportation of arms/ammunition and were providing other logistic support to strengthen militant network.
He identified arrested militant associates as Adil Ali son of Ali Muhammad Bhat, resident of Achan and Asif Gulzar son of Gulzar Ahmed Dar, resident of Hajidarpora.
Incriminating material of proscribed outfit JeM have been recovered from them while a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Litter. “Investigation has been taken up,” reads the statement.
