SRINAGAR — Two militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight in Shalgul forest in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir), Vijay Kumar said that two militants have been killed in Shalgul forest.
“It is a deep forest, however, forces managed to engage the militants. The identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained,” IGP added.
Earlier, reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police and Army’s 3RR launched a cordon and search operation in Shalgul forest.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
