Two militants killed, searches on in Kokernag

SRINAGAR — Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter in forests of Kokernag belt of Anantnag district.

An official said that two militants have been killed in the exchange of fire and search is underway in the area.

“Earlier on specific inputs about the presence of militants in forests of Kachwan area of Kokernag, joint team of forces including 19 RR launched search operation in the area,” official added.

“On intensifying the search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon the forces which triggered an encounter,” he said.
