Woman found dead under mysterious conditions in Sopore

SRINAGAR — A 45-year-old female body was found in mysterious condition in Seloo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Reports reaching here said that a body was lying near Band Saw Mill in Seloo village of Sopore, adding that people after spotting the body immediately informed police. Police later reached the spot and recovered the body.

Police officials said the deceased was identified as Akthar Begum, wife of Ghulam Rasool Marthgam of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

They said that it was not clear whether she has consumed some poisonous substance or was administered the poison by someone.

The body of the deceased was handed over to her family after completion of legal formalities, the officials said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigations are going on in this regard.
