SRINAGAR — A young man and a girl in her teens died on spot while the bike, they were riding, was hit by an oil tanker on busy Srinagar-Bypass road on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses told news agency Kashmir News Trust that an oil tanker (JK16A-8361) hit a motor-cycle (JK13E-6784). As a result, the rider lost balance and all the three persons including the girl fell on the road.
Two persons died on the spot while one was shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment. Police seized the oil-tanker and arrested the driver.
The deceased were identified as Yasir Aziz Dar (26) of Charsoo Awantipora and Kamiyah Showkat Khan (16), a resident of Pinglena Pulwama.
The injured who has identified as Shoib Tanveer Bhat (24) of Pinglena Pulwama is undergoing treatment at SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
Driver dies in Dumper and Tata-Mobile collision
The collision between a Dumper and a Tata-Mobile vehicle left a man dead on Srinagar-Anantnag highway.
The accident occurred during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that there was a collision between a Dumper (JK18C-3212) and a Tata-Mobile (JK13C-6997) near Kandizal Crossing in Pampore that resulted in serious injuries to the driver of Tata-Mobile.
The injured driver was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Reyaz Ahmad Bhat of Lariyar Tral.
Police in this regard registered a case and arrested the driver of the Dumper.
