SRINAGAR — In a recent administrative move, a Superintendent of Police (SP) deputed to Ladakh has been repatriated, while another SP has been appointed to take charge in the Union Territory.

According to an official order quoted by a local news agency, Ch. Iftikhar Ahmad, SP, presently serving on deputation to Ladakh, has been repatriated to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The repatriation is carried out ‘in the interest of administration’.

It is pertinent to mention here that the earlier transfer of the repatriated officer was done as per Government Order No. 232-Home of 2021; dated 07-10-2021.

Following the latest decision, Farhan Jehanzeb Naqash, SP (JKPS-116023), has been deputed to Ladakh from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The order, effective immediately, outlines his deputation for a period of two years or until the final apportionment is made in accordance with Section 89(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.
