Jammu and Kashmir Police Department have released the official notification for the J-K Police Constable Recruitment 2022 for 2700 Police Constables. As per the notification, the police department is going to fill up the Constable vacancies which include the posts of women constables too.
Announced in March 2019, the J-K Police Department finally published the J-K Police Constable Recruitment 2022 notification in January 2022 for 1350 vacancies in two Border Battalions (one each in Jammu Province and Kashmir Province) and the remaining 1350 vacancies in two Women Battalions (one Battalion each in Jammu and Kashmir region) under the Advertisement No. Pers-Rectt-A 22/2019/2474-99 and Pers-Rectt-A-105-2018/2500-50.

There are a total of 2700 vacancies advertised for the J-K Police Constable Recruitment. The breakup of vacancies is as follows:

Eligibility criteria for J-K Police Constable Recruitment 2022
Before applying for the recruitment process, candidates must go through the eligibility criteria mentioned below as well as in the official notification.
Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the 2700 constable posts in the J-K Police department must have passed Matriculate from the recognized Board or Council on or before the last date of submission of the application form.
Age Limit as on 01-01-2022: Candidates who have completed 18 years of age but have not exceeded 28 years are eligible to apply online for J-K Police Constable Recruitment. Relaxation in the upper age for the Reserved category candidates is as per the UT of J-K norms.
Selection process for J-K Police Constable Recruitment 2022
The candidates applying for the police recruitment will be selected on the basis of the following three tests:
- Physical Endurance Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Written Examination
Candidates will first have to go through the PET followed by PST and those who clear both the tests will be eligible for the written exam.
Candidates who have earlier qualified PST/PET for the post of Constable in two Women/Border Battalion against Advertisement Notice under Endorsement No. Pers-Rectt-A-22-2019/16257-300 and Pers-Rectt-A-105-2018/16207-50 dated 09/03/2019 need not give PST/PET again as they are eligible for written test. Similarly, the disqualified candidates in PET/PST cannot apply again as their applications would not be considered.
Exam pattern for J-K Police Recruitment 2022
Candidates have to give the PET first and then PST. Those who pass the PET are eligible for the written exam which contains 100 questions with a time duration of two hours. The question paper consists of Matriculate level questions comprised of General Awareness/General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, Analytical Aptitude and Ability.

Salary for the Constable posts in J-K Police
Candidates selected for the post of a police constable in the J-K Police Department will be given a salary of Pay Band-1 of Rs. 5200 – 20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1900/– which is now revised to Rs. 19900-63200 Level 2 PayScale.
