What is SSC CGL Exam ?
SSC CGL Exam is a Combined Graduate Level Exam, conducted by SSC for filling up Non-Gazetted posts in various Central Government Departments and Ministries. This exam is conducted every year but the number of posts vary every year. SSC, being a responsible organization, releases its Examination Calendar in advance, so that candidates know in advance about the exams dates.
As per the SSC Exam Calendar 2016, CGL 2016 Exam is tentatively scheduled in May, 2016.

When is the SSC CGL Exam in 2016 ?
Knowing the CGL 2016 Exam Date in advance will help you in the long run and you can plan your preparation accordingly. Here is the timeline for CGL 2016 Exam:

  • Publication Or Announcement of Official Notification: 13th February, 2016
  • Tentative Date of Written Exam (Tier-1): 8th and 22nd May, 2016
  • Dates for Online Registration: 13th February 2016 to 14th March, 2016

As you can see, the date of CGL 2016 Exam is 8th and 22nd May, 2016. However, the exact date will be know only after the SSC CGL 2016 Notification will be announced.
As the SSC Exam Calendar is now released, we know the Notification date of CGL 2016 Exam is 13th Feb, 2016.
What is the Eligibility Criteria ?
To appear in the CGL Exam 2016, applicants must fullfill the below mentioned eligibility conditions:

  1. Nationality: To apply for a government job in India, applicant must be an Indian Citizen.
  2. Age-Limit: Applicants age should be in between 18 years to 28 years. But the exact age limit for CGL-2016 will be known only after the Notification will be announced.
  3. Educational Qualification: To appear for CGL 2016 Exam, applicant must have completed Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University.

Selection Process: As the Government of India has abolished the Interviews for Non-Gazetted posts, therefore, there will be no interviews and the selection process comprises of Preliminary (Tier-1) and Mains (Tier-2) exam only. But the exact SSC CGL 2016 Exam Pattern will be know after the publication of Notification.
How to Apply ?
To apply for CGL Exam, you need to wait till 13th February. After that Online Registration will begin.
Online Application: SSC accepts only Online mode of Applications for the CGL Exam. Remember, the Last Date for submission of the CGL Application Form is 14th March, 2016. So, Apply well in advance to avoid any last minute trouble.
