PULWAMA — The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated in District Pulwama with great fervour and enthusiasm wherein the national flag was unfurled at District Police Office Pulwama and each Police Station / Police establishment of the district.
The main function was held at District Police Lines Pulwama. DDC Chairperson Pulwama Syed Abdul Bari Indrabi as a chief guest unfurled the National Flag and took a salute on the parade.
DC Pulwama, Baseer-ul Haq Choudary, SSP Pulwama Gh. Jeelani Wani – JKPS, CO 182, 183 CRPF, ASP Pulwama, DDC Members of District Pulwama and other senior officers of Police / Civil administration were witnessed on the occasion.
The march past was presented by the Contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Home Guards, SPO’s, Fire & Emergency Services, Youth Services & Sports.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairperson highlighted the importance of the Republic Day celebrations and deliberated on various development initiatives undertaken in the district for the progress & prosperity of the general public. He also threw light on the importance of the Constitution of India which was adopted on 26th January 1950.
On the occasion, numerous cultural groups, artists presented cultural programmes.
The prizes were distributed among the best contingents of the parade, cultural, social activists and other participants in Republic Day.
A large number of the general public also witnessed the function as elaborate security arrangements were made by the District Police Pulwama. Besides, the National flag was unfurled in all government establishments viz schools, MCs / BDC offices etc of district Pulwama.
The event concluded peacefully while COVID-19 protocols were followed during the whole event.
