Pulwama: IGNITE, an interactive session on ‘Entrepreneurship’ was today organized at Cosa Nostra Cafe in south Kashmir’s Shopian.

The event, which was a general discussion about entrepreneurship, attracted a good number of young people aiming to start their own business ventures.

The notable personalities which participated in the programme included officials and resource persons from JKEDI, HDFC Bank and a few young emerging entrepreneurs of the valley.

The resource persons enlightened the participants about JKEDI and its various schemes for the potential entrepreneurs. Also, the young entrepreneurs shared their stories of passion, struggle and the eventual success with the gathering which was mostly composed of youth.

“The event is part of my consistent efforts to educate and encourage young people to become entrepreneurs and be their own boss instead of hankering after government jobs,” said the organizer and owner of SRB Style Statement, Shahid Rashid Bhat.

“Education is important to realize your entrepreneurial dreams. Chase your dreams in a planned and organized manner without compromising with your studies,” Sheikh Khursheed, owner Kathi Junction Pulwama said while speaking to the youth.

“I am elated to see such kind of excitement among the young people here. Their presence in such good numbers in this event is really a heart-warming sign,” said Shahid Rashid.

Thanking his sponsors, Shahid said “This event was made possible due to the unconditional support of all my sponsors including Cosa Nostra and BigSon.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the event has been organised at a time when the entire south Kashmir is going through a depressive phase of turmoil. The participants appreciated the efforts of the organizers for making the event a reality.

At the end of the event, Certificates of Honour, Gratitude and Appreciation were presented to guest speakers, young entrepreneurs and participants respectively.
