Pulwama Encounter: Post-battle scenes

PULWAMA — An encounter between government forces and militants ended at Hanjan, Rajpora, in which three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants were killed.

After the encounter ended, the security forces recovered one AK-47, one SLR and one pistol from the encounter site, which had been in the possession of the militants.

As the gunfight ended, the father of Showkat Ahmad Dar, one of the slain militants, was waiting outside the encounter site for his son’s dead body.

The slain militants were identified as Altaf Ahmad Rather, son of Mohammad Abdulla, resident of C.B Nath; Showkat Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Qadir, resident of Kandi, Aglar and Farooq Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Ahmad, resident of Dalwan.
