
Pulwama: A policeman was killed and another injured in a militant attack in Rajpora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir on Saturday.
An official said that militants attacked a police party outside the police station Rajpora.
He said two cops were injured in the attack. “Both of them were shifted to a hospital,” he said, adding that the area has been cordoned off.
GNS news agency, quoting an unnamed police officer, reported that SgCt Abdul Salam who was injured in the militant attack succumbed at 92 Base hospital in Srinagar.
Salam and his colleague had suffered bullet wounds during the attack that took place around 4:10 pm.
Earlier in the day, suspected militants lobbed a grenade at a Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Imam Sahab area of Shopian district. There was no report of any casualties, though.
