Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has postponed the Class 11th T2 Examination.
According to the decision taken by the Department, the Term II exams of Class 11th students will now be held in the last week of November.
The decision has been taken after the Department faced criticism from students for notifying the Date Sheet wherein exams were scheduled from October 18.
However, students from various schools complained and said that they had not completed more than 50 percent of their syllabus in schools and were not in a position to appear in the scheduled exams.
“We have completed only 50 percent syllabus in our schools and we are yet to appear in our Unit II exams which is scheduled from October 23 in our school,” a group of students from Burn Hall School complained.
Another group of students from Mallinson Higher Secondary School said their unit II exams are going on while as Board of School Education (BOSE) has notified Date Sheet for Annual exams from next week which is injustice with the students.
“Our Term I exams were held last month. Our syllabus is not complete,” said a group of students from Mallinson School.
Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah said the Annual exams of Class 11th students will be postponed to the last week of November.
“Keeping in view the interests of students, BOSE is going to issue a Revised Date Sheet for Class 11th T2 Examination and exams will be held in last week of November,” Shah said.
He said the Department will ensure that no student is put to any inconvenience.
“We are concerned about interests of students. Let students complete their syllabus first,” he said.
