J&K Police Constable Recruitment: Instructions for Candidates

The written examination for the post of Constables in J&K Police for those candidates who have successfully qualified in the Physical Endurance Tests/Physical Measurement Tests is sched­uled to be held on 20th March, 2016 from 1000 hours in all districts of J&K. The Admit cards have been dispatched by post. In case, any qualified candidate does not receive the same, he/she can download the admit card from J&K Police website (www.jkpolice.gov.in). Detailed general instructions to the candi­dates are given below to make the candidates aware about what to expect and how to answer the questions during the written examination. The same instructions have also been uploaded in the J&K Police website and the candidates can easily access the same.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
  1. Candidate should report at the Examination venue at the time mentioned in the admit card (10:00 AM) and should ensure that he/she is seated in the room/hall/seat allotted to him/her by 11:00 AM sharp. The test shall commence after completion of formalities like verification of admit card vis-a-viz candi­date, writing of roll numbers and question booklet number in OMR Sheet etc. He/She will not be allowed to enter the exam­ination hall without the admit card.
  2. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the Examination Hall / Room once the examination has commenced. No candidate will be permitted to leave the Examination hall/room before the examination is over and other formalities are completed by Invigilation staff.
  3. The duration of the Examination will be the same as specified in the Question Booklet i.e 02 hours.
  4. Change of venue/center for the Examination will not be per­mitted under any circumstance.
  5. Books, Note books, Calculators, Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication / electronic devices including smart watches or any other accessory etc. will not be permitted inside the premises where the examination is being conduct­ed. It is also in the interest of the Candidate not to bring any of the above mentioned banned items to the venue of the examination as arrangements for safekeeping cannot be assured.
  6. Candidate shall carry their own Blue/Black ball point pen to the Examination hall.
  7. Taking recourse to any unfair means in connection with the examination/misbehaviour causing disturbance in the exami­nation hall will disqualify a candidate.
  8. In case of loss of/destroying/tearing off/running away with the Answer sheet/Question booklet or using Unfair means by the Candidates, the Center Supervisors have been instructed to lodge necessary FIR with the concerned police station for necessary action. In addition to this, the JKPRB will take nec­essary suitable action against such candidates. His/Her exam/candidature will be cancelled.
  9. Candidates found indulging in malpractices/impersonation will be debarred for life from examination or appointment in J&K Police.
  10. A candidate must ensure that his/her attendance (Signature)including three left thumb impressions is marked by the hall Supervisor.
  11. A candidate shall sit in the specified seat allotted to him/her. The Admit card should be kept available/Handy.
  12. In case, Roll Number/Admit Card is not received by the Candidate, he/she can:
  • Get it downloaded from J&K Police Website.
  • Contact District SSP/SP (Controller of Examination) for said Admit Card one day before the examination.

Beware of agents/touts etc. and inform us to prevent corrup­tion in this Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP).

INSTRUCTIONS ON QUESTION PAPER
  1. You must read the instructions on the question paper and the OMR sheet carefully before you proceed to solve the questions.
  2. All question will be compulsory and there in no negative marking.
  3. All questions carry equal marks.
  4. You are NOT allowed to open this question paper until the Invigilator announces to do so in the examination hall.
  5. Immediately after commencement of the examination, please check that the test booklet supplied to you does not have any unprinted or torn or missing pages or items etc. If so, inform the Hall Supervisor immediately and get it replaced.
  6. Immediately write the Roll number and question booklet num­ber on the OMR sheet. The OMR sheet cannot be evaluated if you don’t fill this or fill it wrongly.
  7. Maximum time allowed to solve this question paper is only 2 hours.
  8. Do not write or mark anything anywhere on this question booklet.
  9. This question booklet has 100 questions and has 4 options of answers for each of them. You have to read the question carefully and select the most appropriate answer and darken the correct circle completely against your choice.
  10. No candidate is allowed to leave the class room unless the exam is over and the Hall Supervisor declares so.
  11. No page/part should be removed from the question booklet.
  12. This question booklet and the OMR answer sheet are the property of JK Police. Appropriate civil and criminal penal actions will be taken if a candidate tries to misuse, spoil, tear or steal the same.
  13. Do not spoil the bar code on the answer sheet as this may lead to getting debarred from the examination.
  14. After finishing the examination, hand over the complete ques­tion booklet and OMR answer sheet to the Invigilator and don’t carry question booklet or any part of it outside the examination room as doing so is a punishable offence.
  15. Candidates found indulging in malpractices/impersonation will be debarred for life from examination or appointment in J&K Police.
