SRINAGAR — The University of Kashmir has issued a notice summoning more than 250 students to appear before the Committee for Scrutiny of Unfair Means/Misconduct Cases on February 5, 2015. The students are accused of resorting to unfair means during various examinations held by the university in late 2014 and early 2015.
According to the official notification issued by the Assistant Controller of Examinations (Tabulation), Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, the concerned candidates are required to report at 11:00 AM at the office chamber of the Dean Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir.
The notice states that failure to appear before the committee will be presumed as an admission of guilt, and the decision taken by the Unfair Means Committee will be binding.
The roll numbers mentioned in the notice belong to candidates from multiple streams and sessions, including:
BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BCA/MCMP/Fazila/B.A. English Honours/B.Com Honours 1st Year (Backlog/Failure/Additional/Division Improvement) for Session Dec 2014–Jan 2015;
BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BCA/MCMP/Fazila/B.A. English Honours 2nd Year (Backlog/Additional/Division Improvement) for Session November 2014 in Kashmir Valley/Kargil;
B.Ed. Annual Examination, Session July 2014;
M.A. Private 3rd and 4th Semester Examination for Fresh/Backlog/Division Improvement, Session August–November 2014.
The university has stressed strict action against academic misconduct and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy. The scrutiny aims to ensure academic integrity and transparency in the university’s examination process.
