SRINAGAR — Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, a well-known Gujjar leader and former minister, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today, marking a significant political shift ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Zulfikar Ali, who has previously been part of various political parties including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday.
