Srinagar, Feb 25: Majlis-e-Mashwarat, anamalgam of various organizations, on Monday announced the protest programme for this week to seek the return of the body of Muhammad Afzal Guru, who was executed at Tihar Jail in New Delhi on February 9.
Sources said the Majlis-e-Mashwarat which met here today appealed lawyers to stage protests on February 27 (Wednesday). They appealed people of south Kashmir’s Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama and Islamabad districts to stage peaceful protests on February 28 (Thursday). It called for a Valley wide shutdown and protests on March 1 (Friday).
Majlis appealed people to hoist red flags on shops and vehicles on March 2 (Saturday) and asked the shopkeepers to keep their business establishments open on March 3 (Sunday).
The next programme would be announced on next March 4 (Monday).
