SRINAGAR — People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) today bagged chairman and vice-chairman posts today in District Development Council (DDC) elections in Pulwama and Ganderbal.
Sources said that Bari Andrabi of PDP was elected as chairperson of DDC Pulwama after he secured nine votes during the election meeting held here.
They said that Mukhtar Ahmad Bandh of NC was elected as vice-chairperson after he secured nine votes against his rival candidate.
Earlier, election meeting of all the elected DDC members of Pulwama was called by District Election Officer Pulwama to elect chairperson and vice-chairperson for the district.
Similarly in Ganderbal, the PAGD won the chairperson and vice-chairperson posts of District Development Council.
Sources said that Nuzhat Ishfaq of the National Conference was elected as chairperson of DDC Ganderbal after she got nine votes during the election meeting.
They said that the vice-chairperson post was bagged by the PDP after its candidate Bilal Ahmad secured eight votes.
