Ramadan to begin tomorrow in J&K: Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam

SRINAGAR — The holy month of Ramadan will begin tomorrow in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as the moon has been sighted, announced J&K’s Grand Mufti on Tuesday evening.

Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam said that moon sightings have been reported from various places of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, “The moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted. The holy month will begin from April 14, Wednesday.”

“We have received ample testimonies,” he said, adding the first Tarawih will be offered on April 13.
