SRINAGAR — In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Jammu & Kashmir team defeated Uttar Pradesh by eight wickets.
Captain Parvaiz Rasool won the toss and opted to bowl. Batting first, Uttar Pradesh managed to set a total of 124 while losing five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Mujtaba Yousuf bowled an economical spell by taking three wickets and conceded only 14 runs in his four overs. However, Abid Mushtaq and Abdul Samad took one wicket each.
The J&K team chased the score easily by reaching the target in the 15th over. Abdul Samad scored 54 runs from 35 balls, which included two boundaries and four sixes while Shubham Khajuria scored 34 runs from 25 balls.
Jammu & Kashmir will play its fourth match of the tournament on January 16 against Punjab.
