News Topic:Jammu-Srinagar National Highway
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which was formerly known as NH 1A before the renumbering of national highways, serves as the northernmost segment of NH 44. This important highway stretches from the picturesque city of Srinagar located in the beautiful Kashmir Valley to the vibrant city of Jammu.
Playing a vital role in connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway serves as one of the primary road links in the region. Alongside the Mughal Road, it ensures the transportation and accessibility of goods and people to and from the valley.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and effective management, the highway is supervised by two control rooms. The first control room is situated in Srinagar, while the second control room is located in Jammu. These control rooms play a crucial role in overseeing traffic operations and ensuring the safety and convenience of travelers using this significant highway.
