Pulwama: Among the entire dry fruit variety, Almond is known to be the first in its bloom to represent the onset of spring season in Kashmir valley. The Almond blossom has regained hope among Kashmir farmers who expect good returns this year.

Kashmir holds a distinct name in its Almond production. Although Almond is produced in every part of Kashmir, the areas like Pulwama and Budgam are rich in its production.

Soon after the appearance of Almond bloom, people from all walks of life including farmers and other visitors begin to throng various Almond orchards to enjoy the season’s most awaited and beautiful blossom.

The Almond orchards are seen verdant this year and farmers are hopeful, having countless expectations with the bloom in their orchards.

According to farmers, a huge reduction in the Almond production was witnessed from several years due to unfavorable weather conditions but the improvement in weather has revitalized the lost hopes of farmers.

Farmer fraternity believes the ongoing season of 2018 year is the only season when they found their orchards sufficiently bloomed since past five years.
