PULWAMA — Mohammad Lateef Bhat, the District President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Pulwama, spearheaded the commencement of the ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’ in Pulwama on Friday, February 9, alongside his party members.

The initiative aims to foster grassroots engagement by conducting planning meetings across all districts, fostering collaboration with Mandal Samitis, and garnering support from Mandal Samitis for the District Samitis.

The ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’ program encompasses several key initiatives, including the compilation of lists of Karyakartas in conjunction with Mandal Samitis, the appointment of a Sanjoyak in every village and urban booth, and the mapping of Pravasi Karya Kartas based on villages/booths.

Additionally, the initiative focuses on finalizing venues and dates for Mandal-level workshops, with a cap of 100 participants per workshop, and organizing assembly-level workshops where Mandal and assembly constituencies intersect.

In a statement to The Kashmir Pulse, Mohammad Lateef Bhat underscored the commitment of the BJP-led government to fostering progress and development. He emphasized the Central government’s dedication to serving the impoverished, enhancing living standards for India’s middle class, and implementing welfare schemes for farmers.

Mohammad Lateef Bhat further highlighted the government’s achievements, including the allocation of over 3.63 lakh crore in ECGLS to bolster MSMEs, the operationalization of 74 airports since 2014, and the identification of more than 1537 projects with an approximate cost of 6.5 lakh crore for implementation. Moreover, the government has activated 5.47 lakh common service centres under the Digital India initiative.

Bhat also pointed out significant infrastructure endeavours, including the construction of 121 tunnels spanning 146.6 km and the identification of 500 destinations across 31 states as theme-based circuits to bolster infrastructure development in tourist destinations.
