PULWAMA — A J&K Police cop was killed when militants attacked a checkpoint manned jointly by Police and CRPF in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

In the attack, two policemen were injured, among which one (head constable Anoop Singh) died on the way to hospital.

Government forces immediately laid a siege around the area but the militants could not be traced.

Meanwhile, the slain cop’s wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines in Pulwama where his family members were also present.

Back in his native village Shadipora, hundreds of people participated in his funeral wherein some heart-wrenching scenes were witnessed.

It is pertinent to mention that the slain J&K Police cop of IRP 10th battalion, Anoop Singh left behind four children – two daughters and two sons.
