Backdoor appointments have become a trend: Usman Majid

Srinagar: State General Secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid today said that backdoor appointments have become a trend in the PDP-BJP Government for the benefit their relatives.

Majid alleged that for the last two consecutive years, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited has been made a hub of backdoor and illegal appointments by the PDP in the garb of being an autonomous organization.

Majid demanded probe into alleged illegal backdoor appointments made by ministers by ignoring the deserving candidates.

“J&K Bank has become a Rehabilitation Centre for PDP leaders by way of backdoor appointments and easy loan, thus looting public property,” Usman said.

He said that on the recommendations and at the behest of PDP leaders, a good number of persons have been illegally appointed in the said bank without following the requisite recruitment procedures or advertising the posts.

Usman said that backdoor appointments have been going on and the deserving educated unemployed youth of J&K are not getting any share in the jobs. Many people have been appointed in J&K Bank & other departments, he further alleged.

Majid said that most deserving and qualified have been ignored and left out as no opportunity was provided to them to compete.

He said that Mehbooba Mufti-led Government has failed to take any stringent or deterrent measures to curb the menace of corruption, nepotism and favoritism in the State.

Majid cautioned that nobody can be allowed to play with the future of educated unemployed youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
