Srinagar: Paying rich tributes to slain youth of Padgampora encounter, Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Geelani today said “our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation & putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.

Meanwhile, a deputation comprising of Ab Hamid Magrey, Zahoor-ul-Haq Geelani & Molana Mudasir Nadvi participated in funeral prayers of slain Shabaz Shafi Wani in Rajpora Pulwama, while as acting president Pulwama, Mohamad Amin Ahangar led funeral prayers of Farooq Ahmad Hura in Shopian.

In a telephonic address to mourners, Syed Ali Geelani said that I pay my heartfelt and sincere tribute to these martyrs and I would have attended their funerals but authorities don’t allow me to move and I am under house arrest since last seven years. They are even barring me from offering religious obligations, said Syed Ali Geelani while addressing mourners.

I assure my nation that one day we will emerge as free nation, said Syed Ali Geelani during his address and asked people to exhibit steadfastness and keep away from these shame elections.

It is a pious mission while referring to ongoing freedom movement and take my message to every nook & corner, said Geelani. He in his address urged religious clerics to apprise people about the negative aspects of these elections and inform them about their duties towards freedom movement. India forcibly has occupied our territory and our youth are presenting their precious lives to resist this slavery, said Syed Ali Geelani.

Syed Ali Geelani Monday urged people to boycott upcoming elections, saying that participations in these tantamount to treason with the blood of martyrs.

They are two faces of the same coin, while referring to contesting parties, said Syed Ali Geelani. They are cheating and through their deceit, these parties are strengthening the occupational forces, said Geelani.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activist Gh Mohammad Hura was arrested during intervening night by Police station Kupwara. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat in its statement strongly condemned police action and said that he is a peaceful political worker and his detention is unjustified. (KNS)
