SRINAGAR — Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, VK Bidhuri, announced on Tuesday that the Amarnath Yatra, which began on July 29, has seen the participation of five lakh pilgrims so far and attributed the success of the pilgrimage to the positive contributions of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

While speaking to the news agency KNS, the Divisional Commissioner said that those undertaking the Yatra in Kashmir act as ambassadors of the region. After completing their pilgrimage, they promote Kashmir both nationally and internationally, thereby helping to boost the Valley’s popularity as a destination.

“By this evening, the pilgrimage had surpassed five lakh participants, and the credit goes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for supporting the administration and contributing to its success,” he said.
