SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has announced the third and final mop-up round of online counselling for admissions to B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Paramedical, and B.Sc. Technology courses for the 2026 academic session.
According to the official notification (Notification No. 162-BOPEE of 2026, dated August 23, 2026), the online preference submission window is currently active. The portal opened at 2:00 pm on August 23 and will remain accessible until midnight on August 25, 2026.
The Board said the decision to conduct this additional round came after it noted a shortfall in joining figures on the JKBOPEE portal. Numerous seats across various government and private colleges in the Union Territory became available after candidates either did not join, resigned, surrendered their seats, or left seats vacant following the second round of counselling.
Eligibility criteria
The notification outlines eligibility criteria for candidates wishing to participate in this mop-up round.
Candidates who did not secure any seat in the first or second rounds are eligible for fresh allotment. Candidates who were allotted seats in the first or second rounds and have already joined their respective institutes can participate for upgradation.
Candidates who were allotted seats but did not join, or those who resigned or cancelled their admission by the specified deadlines in previous rounds, are also permitted to participate. However, the Board stipulated that candidates who failed to join or cancelled their admission in the second round cannot opt for the same course at the same institution. They remain eligible to apply for other courses at the same institution, or any course at different institutions, subject to seat availability.
With the deadline approaching on August 25, eligible candidates have been urged to log in to the official JKBOPEE portal to submit their online preferences for upgradation or new allotments before midnight.
