SRINAGAR — Former MLC Yasir Reshi has raised serious allegations against individuals involved in a previous paper leak scandal and accused them of continuing their illicit activities.
In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Yasir Reshi, according to Srinagar-based news agency KDC, alleged that individuals involved in a previous paper leak scandal are still actively engaged in this illicit activity.
“Last year, in Police Station Tral, an FIR was filed against Shahnawaz Khan and Mubashir Rather for involvement in the Fire & Emergency and Nursing exam paper leak. These individuals are now out on bail and are reportedly selling papers for money,” he said.
He has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Lieutenant Governor’s office to take immediate action against the accused and prevent further such incidents.
Pertinently, last year, the Tral Police Station registered a First Information Report (FIR No. 53 of 2023) under sections 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against seven individuals: Umar Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Shikargah, Tral; Aasim Afzal Mir, son of Mohd Afzal Mir, a resident of Ajas, Bandipora; Shahnawaz Ahmad Khan, son of Mohd Afzal Khan, a resident of Sumbal, Sonawari; Abid Malik, son of Fazal Hussain Malik, a resident of Bathandi, Jammu; Yawar Ahmad Naikoo, son of Gh Qadir Naikoo, a resident of Kiloora, Shopian; Syed Azhar Uddin, son of Gayas Uddin, a resident of Soibugh, Budgam; and Shabir Ahmad Wani, son of Ab Hameed Wani, a resident of Yarigam, Pulwama.
These individuals were accused of selling JKBOPEE exam papers prior to the examination. The accused were later granted bail by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) Tral on June 16, 2023.
