Pulwama man was fired upon by militants: Police

Srinagar: Police Friday said that a dead body was found at Gudoora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pulwama this morning.

“The body was later on identified as that of Mohammad Yousuf Lone son of Sana Ullah Lone resident of Gudoora, Pulwama. During the initial investigation, it was revealed that the deceased was fired upon by militants during the intervening night of 18-19 May 2017,” a police spokesman said in a statement.

“A case FIR number 174/2017 under section 302 RPC and 7/27 Arms Act has been registered in PS Pulwama. Further investigation is going on,” the spokesman said. (KNS)
