SRINAGAR — While the arrival of deadly Coronavirus, having detected in some people in Ladakh, has engulfed the region with fear, two patients with symptoms of Corona-like infection have been isolated by Sonam Norbo Memorial Hospital (SNMH) in Leh.
The isolation comes after the death of one of the patients with symptom, similar to that of Coronavirus.
Medical Superintendent of the Hospital intimated the Chief Medical Officer Leh about the isolation of two patients with virus symptoms through a communiqué.
The communiqué stated that one of the patients were kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while the other in general isolation.
Earlier, a patient from Phayang village of Leh expired who had Coronavirus-like symptoms, the communiqué added.
If official sources in the hospital administration are to be believed, the good news is that the blood samples of the two patients, which were sent for laboratory investigations, on the request of Medical Superintendent of SNM Hospital to Chief Medical Officer Leh, have tested negative.
The findings have brought some relief to the people of Ladakh region in general and medical fraternity in particular, who are now trying to find out the nature of the virus that has infected the above said patients.
