SRINAGAR — Shamima Bano, the Bhartiya Janata Party Kashmir unit’s Vice President for Kupwara district, on Sunday said that the valley had changed from ‘Hurriyat wala Kashmir’ to ‘Modi wala Kashmir’.

Pointing towards the upcoming Independence Day of India (August 15), she asked the people of Kashmir to hoist the tricolour in their respective homes.

She said that the atmosphere of fear had gone and BJP workers were now openly conducting rallies in the valley.

The BJP leader also sang a patriotic Bollywood song “Mera Mulk, Mera Desh” in a video, which has gone viral on social media.

Earlier, the district administration Srinagar had asked the Chief Education Officer (CEO) to hoist the tricolour on all the government buildings ahead of the 75th Independence Day of India.

The office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar has directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar to hoist the flags in all government buildings under its jurisdiction.

The order reads, “Get the national flag hoisted on all the government buildings under your control in district Srinagar on the upcoming 75th Independence Day.”
