SRINAGAR — Degree colleges in Kashmir valley reopened on Monday amid partial attendance of students and strict precautionary measures by the government, after being closed for almost a year for the entire academic session.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic situation in the last academic session, these institutions had the opportunity to work for barely two weeks before the nationwide lockdown was implemented in March.

These holidays ended in the valley on February 15 (Monday) after which the teaching work in the colleges has resumed.

According to reports, colleges across the valley reopened today and although the number of students was not high, enthusiasm could be clearly seen in them.

According to the students, special arrangements were kept in place and infrared thermometers were used to check the body temperature of the students as a part of COVID protocol.

It is pertinent to mention that infrared thermometers are one of the most popular types of thermometers as they help you read temperatures without the risk of transmitting germs. They use infrared rays to read the temperature of a person or an object from a certain distance and display the number in just a few seconds.
