SRINAGAR — In a significant development, Jammu and Kashmir’s Education Minister, Sakina Masood Itoo, announced that the academic session for students up to 9th standard will be restored to November-December, deviating from the previous March session.

The Uniform Academic Calendar, introduced in 2022, sought to synchronize Jammu and Kashmir’s academic session with the national pattern, however, the stakeholders, including parents, students and educationists had opposed the decision back then, citing the distinct topography and weather pattern of Kashmir Valley.
