IED defused in Panjgrain Nagrota, averting major tragedy

JAMMU — In a swift operation, security forces successfully detected and neutralized an improvised explosive device (IED) in Panjgrain Nagrota area of Jammu division on Tuesday morning, preventing what could have been a catastrophic incident.

The timely action of the bomb disposal squad (BDS) averted potential harm and allowed for the safe restoration of traffic from both directions.

An official source confirmed the incident and revealed that the IED was found under suspicious circumstances in Panjgrain Nagrota. Swiftly responding to the situation, the security forces took immediate action to secure the area and engage the specialized BDS unit to assess and neutralize the threat.

The operation to neutralize the IED was executed with precision and control, utilizing expert techniques to ensure the safety of surrounding areas. Following a controlled mechanism, the BDS successfully rendered the explosive device inert, eliminating any potential danger it posed.

As a result of the operation, traffic that had been temporarily disrupted due to the security alert has now been fully restored from both directions. The clearance of the scene was completed efficiently, allowing normalcy to return to the area.
