
JAMMU — Six people were killed and 11 others injured in different road accidents in Jammu region on Wednesday, police said.

Three persons were killed and five others injured when a vehicle they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge in Darmathal belt of Udhampur district this evening, police officials said.
The deceased have been identified as Nitu Devi (23), Kapoor Chand (42) and Rimpy (15), they said, adding, that the injured have been admitted to hospital.
In a similar incident, two people riding on a motorcycle died after it was hit by a vehicle in Mauradpur belt of Rajouri district, police said.
The deceased have been identified Zaffar Hussain (17) and Mukhtar Hussain (23), they said.

In a third incident, a child identified as Tadil was crushed to death by a truck in Bagga belt of Mahore tehsil of Reasi district, police said.

Meanwhile, six Amarnath pilgrims were injured when their vehicle turned turtle on the highway at Bali Nallah in Udhampur district, they said.
